Aeration & Overseeding

Over time, North Bay's clay-heavy soils get compacted from foot traffic, mowing, and freeze-thaw cycles. Compacted soil prevents water, air, and nutrients from reaching grass roots — leading to thin, patchy, stressed-out lawns. Core aeration is the solution.

Our core aeration service uses a commercial aerator to pull small plugs of soil from your lawn, creating channels for air, water, and nutrients to penetrate deep into the root zone. The result is stronger root development, improved drainage, and a visibly thicker, healthier lawn.

We pair aeration with premium overseeding — spreading high-quality grass seed directly into the freshly aerated holes where it has the best chance to germinate and establish. This combination is the single most effective treatment for transforming a tired lawn.

We recommend aeration and overseeding once or twice per year — ideally in early fall when soil temperatures are perfect for seed germination and weed competition is low. Spring aeration is also beneficial for lawns recovering from harsh North Bay winters.
